About this program

Provides complete home furnishing packages and essential household/child items to young adults aging out of foster care via referrals from partner child-welfare agencies and caseworkers. Packages range from kitchen/bath basics to full apartment furnishings and include items for custodial parents and infants (crib, car seat, highchair, etc.).

Who can apply

Referral must come from an approved partner agency/caseworker (Hearts to Homes does not accept applications directly from youth). The young adult must be aging out of foster care and reside in NYC, Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Nassau or Suffolk counties. For ACS housing subsidy applicants, approval/denial documentation must be submitted with referral when applicable. Some wishlists are specific to supportive housing or custodial parents.
