About this program

NC GreenPower purchases high-quality carbon offsets (projects that reduce CO2 or greenhouse gases). The program issues an ongoing RFP to expand its portfolio of carbon offset projects; preferred projects are located in North Carolina but projects in South Carolina and Virginia will be considered. Eligible project types include methane collection and combustion, reforestation/avoided deforestation and other verified greenhouse gas mitigation projects.

Who can apply

Projects must directly reduce CO2 or greenhouse gases, be measured, verified and tracked, and meet NC GreenPower quality criteria. Preference for NC projects; SC and VA considered.
