Artwork Loans and Donations to Museums/Institutions
A resource program from John & Susan Horseman Foundation for American Art
This is not a grant
John & Susan Horseman Foundation for American Art provides donated goods or services here, not funding. Nonprofits receive items or support directly rather than money, so there is no award to spend. If you're looking for cash funding, this program won't provide it.
About this program
The Foundation provides loans (and occasionally donates works) from the John and Susan Horseman Collection to museums and institutions to broaden scholarship and public access to 20th–21st century American art, with emphasis on artists historically left out of the canon, including Black and vernacular artists.
Who can apply
Institutional borrowers that broaden scholarship of American art; the Foundation does not lend to private individuals. Borrowing institutions should provide exhibition details, catalogue plans, venue(s) and dates, and facilities report.
